Einzelausstellung im FAQ Basel mit einer Performance von Mélanie Gobet
Texte zur Ausstellung von Camille Kaiser
and she only dreams of getting in
the confetti palace
the confetti palace
where it is not predictable
when it will explode
the confetti palace
where the gesture is vain
as much as it is repeated
and where the pain is just
a bit bigger than the face.
in the confetti palace
where the king is blue
and the porcelain is
heavy or light
heavy or light
but still lined up
as if it were fitting in
the rectangle of your everyday objects
picked up on the streets
of this city with no walls.
in the confetti palace
your tentacles impend you
from changing the situation
that would need it so much
as you are turning in circles
trying to find the right forms
the right allusions
without ever freezing into
the right forms
the right allusions.
days, years, come now !
she is waiting
and she only dreams of getting in
the confetti palace.
Lives and works in Fribourg and Bern.

the confetti palace is ten sculptures and one breathlessness, a soft blue floor and about twenty balloons. the confetti palace is an installation and a performance, a collaboration between grégory sugnaux and mélanie gobet, a proposal to reflect upon the series and the unique, the organic and the industrial, the worthless and the precious. it is also, an invitation to follow the rhythm of repeated gestures, gestures that deconstruct and reconstruct forms and spaces in which all traces may end up as confetti.
